  About department  
  The department is established in 1966. The pioneer member and the head of the department was late prof K.B. Naik Under whose able guidance the discipline of the History is flourished. After his superannuation the charge was taken by the prof. K.B. Shirse in 1994. At present the same faculty is working in the dept. the department is well equipped & furnished & that has been imparting the knowledge & discharging its services at degree college level in the discipline of the history with subject combination of Economics, Political Science, Marthi and English literature. In addition to academic domain of the college, the faculty also extentds his services to the community  under the extension activities of department.

  Research Area  
  The faculty is interested in perilous proportion to run the research activities in the dept. His own area of interest is religious & social historical movements of the country. He has been working on “12 Auspi cious pilgrim Spot of Mahanubhave  Way of Life in the Ambit of Umarked” presently he has registered his name as research fellow in the S.G.B. Amravati University to work on “Contribution of the Nondalilt in the Movement of Jalit / downtrodens in the Ambit of Vidharba –A historical Analysis Form 1901-1960”  for his Ph.D degree under the guidance of prof.Dr.Yadavrao Gujar – ex head –dept.of history, R.S.T.M. Nagpur University Nagpur. He has also published & Presented his research papers in the national and internationa Conferences held all over India.

In addition to the serving the student the faculty extends his services to the Community through various platfroms made available by local civil organization, Teachers organization, NSS, civil social gatherings etc.

The faculty has been awaking the people of the area to conserve and preserve cultural and national heritage such as forts temples, sclupters and many other historical monuments. The faculty is also honorable member of “Nagpur-Amravati University History Teachers association.”
